Thankful Thursday

When in doubt, have a donut.

Ooooh I'm back for a second week running with my Thankful Thursday (Kayla I'm sure you are proud).  There are certain weeks where you really need to be thankful.  And I mean that, there are weeks where things seem difficult, and it is those times that we really need to remember to be thankful.

Study days have been a godsend for me this week.  I am so blessed to have one, two or even three study days a week.  That really means a lot to me and my family.  I am pretty sure God knows this as I regularly praise him for delivering me such a blessing.

Donuts. Doughnuts.  Such delightful sugary goodness.  Gifted to me by my Unicorn lovers for keeping me warm on study evenings.  They joined me for breakfast on  a random Sunday morning last week.  Sweet deliciousness.

Lessons.  Yes, I have learned even more this week!  It seems the perfect opportunity to grow personally and spiritually never eludes me; blessing number three.

Date nights and takeaways.  'Spending time is precious.'

The absence of social media apps.  I am thankful for the silence of my phone.  I no longer have constant Whats App messages going off or Instagram notifications to tend to, or  Snapchat to aid my procrastination..  It really is magical.

Kindle Unlimited.  FREE BOOKS! I discovered this while casually browsing through the Kindle page on Amazon.  I nearly sprouted wings and flew I was so excited.  You pay a set price a month and have an access to over 650,000 books.  A-MAZING.  I do not know what they never thought of it before.  As an avid reader and book fanatic I think it is the best thing since Unicorn dust.
(Have a look here)

Tea.  There has been a cup of tea for every emotion this week.  Where would I be without tea? (Probably drinking coffee and that is just not acceptable).

I am also thankful for YOU.  THANK YOU for reading.  I send love to each and everyone of you who reads my posts.  Lots and lots of love.

Its Thursday! Happy Thursday!  This week I am inspired by my wonderful friend Kayla's blog The Giggles of Life.  I adore her Thankful Thursday posts every week.  They put me in a beautiful mood and fill me with love and joy.  I am inspired to make more of an effort to be thankful and add more to my documentation about such thankfulness.  So, first and foremost I am thankful for Kayla and her wonderful blog.

This week has been an interesting one.

I am grateful I have been able to spend some time with my family.

I have also been able to learn some much needed lessons, however hard it might have been to learn them!  Experience is always something to be grateful for, in my book.  Where would we be without mistakes and experience?  I thank the Universe for teaching such lessons.

It has been amazing to just be, this week.  I never imagined I would be where I am in life.  I am blessed to be doing what I am doing, living the life I live and having love surround me.  I promise to try and recognise love no matter what form it presents itself in.

The rain is tedious to most but here I am thanking the Universe for it!.  It seems to have been so long since it has rained that I actually do not mind.  I remind my little Unicorn lovers, if they ever grumble about the downpour, that there are countries praying for rain, countries going through drought, countries needing rain but having to go without. Let us be thankful water falls from the sky when it feels like it.

Over this next week I wish you all abundance of thankful moments, oodles of love and frequent showers of joy.  It may be gloomy outside sometimes, but let the sun always shine in your heart.

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday!

Do we forget to be thankful? Most certainly.  Don't forget to live.  Live and be grateful.

Lately I have been thankful for -

-The good weather, as it has been lovely to see the sun shine and still not have to wear a heavy coat
- Love, surrounded by family and friends on special occasions
-Snapchat, to keep up to date with my friends and their random moments
-Yoga, which has relaxed me
-Meditation, which has kept me focussed
-Packed Lunches!

What are you thankful for? It can be anything, no matter how small?  Give thanks daily.

Much love to you all x

Thankful Thursday

Someone once said to me "Be thankful for what you have, because someone somewhere is fighting for your position."

I am thankful to have passed my college course with flying colours.  Nine months of hard work and faith granted me the results I needed to move on to bigger things!  I am so grateful!

I am grateful for the good weather; I love the sun.  No matter how hot it gets, I never complain.  Winter is my least favourite season so sunny days are the one for me.

I thank the Universe for my family.  Everything I do is for them.  I am so grateful they are happy and healthy.

I am thankful for my health.  All the stress and sleepless nights I put my body through and yet I am healthier than most.

I am thankful for the money in my pocket and the food in my cupboard.  There are so many people who have a lot less, so whatever my financial situation I remind myself of the audacity of complaining while others are worse off.

There is always something to be thankful for, regardless of your situation.  I don't just mean material things either.  Often, the things with the most value are not physical.

Thankful Thursday

Now that college is finished I have had a lot more time to focus on what I am thankful for.  But more free time has also meant more thinking time.  Why can't we just switch our brains off? Literally.  Here is my 'this is what I m thankful for since I finished college' list.

Time- So much it! Sometimes I don't know what to do with all my new found free time.  I have been making lists and attempting to keep busy so as not to get bored.  It definitely requires some adjustment to take yourself from dong something full time to having nearly all your time available.

DVDs- I have pledged to watch one DVD a night.  My collection is full of films I have bought or been given but never watched.  Some have been unopened since as long as over a year ago!  I find it hard to sit in one place for so long and tune in into something that demands my constant attention for a length of time.  I am working on changing my mind set.  So far I have managed to keep it up.

Happy People- It is beautiful to see a smiling face or hear gratitude from a stranger.  It is also beautiful to meet- forgive me for sounding cliché- NICE people; genuinely NICE people.  Such a wonderful thing.  When I encounter people like it I find it impossible not to feed off their aura. I hope they find something positive in mine too.

Music- "If it wasn't for the music I don't know what we'd do. You know the music stepped in and saved my life"- DJ Narrows- Saved Soul.

What has made you thankful lately?

Much love x

Thankful Thursday

It's been a fortnight like no other!  My college course is drawing to a close, my stress levels reached a high but thankfully subsided, I have had some magical moments and some really thought-provoking ones.

My fortnightly delights

This week I have taken some time out to concentrate on what really matters to me as well as the things that I have been neglecting.  So far so good! I have been focussing on growing as a person and evaluating my current position.  Here is what I have been thankful for these past couple of weeks:

Love
Love is such a beautiful thing.
Sometimes we can unintentionally take it for granted, but
that doesn't mean we are not grateful for it.  Where would we be without
love?

Money
Whatever the amount my be.  I am grateful to be able to eat
and feed my family.

Books
There is a book for everything!  I do not know what I would do
without books or the ability to read.

My little people
One of which made my name out of lego.  How patient they have been while I tear
my hair out over coursework.  Love them.

My tutor
There are some tutors who it is ok to have a meltdown in front of and some
who don't care.  My tutor is the former.  Hats
off to him, seriously.

Family
Support, support, support.  The end is nigh, so I will see you all
at the end of June!

Have any of you had a any magical moments lately?  What are you thankful for?

Sending you all love and rainbows.  Much love  xxx

Thankful Thursday

Another week flies by...another round of blessings!  It has been an interesting week.  I am looking forward to the weekend for once.  And I mean looking forward as in- why cant I skip today and tomorrow?! Rarely do I wish to rush ahead to the weekend but it has been one of those weeks.  Still, lessons have been learned, so for that I must be grateful.
This week I am thankful for...

friends. I rarely get time to see people because of my studies, and not everyone understands this.  But there are those friends who will walk to the ends of the earth with you regardless if you sent them a random message on what's app.  No matter where life takes you, real friends will always be around.  Lurking in the background (that wasn't meant to rhyme).

the support of my loved ones.  I have needed everyones help this week as I try to pass an assignment and I have been overwhelmed by the offers of help and donations.  I am grateful for all the love!

food.  I did a very measured shop this week.  Paying real attention to what I was eating and how much I had to spend.  I cut out most of the junk I buy and found that I spent less money.  No longer will I complain about food prices being too high as I managed totally fine using a smaller budget.

I have also been thankful for...

tea
unicorns
electric whisks

Its been a pleasure being thankful as always.  Thankfulness sends positive stardust out into the Universe and returns it to you ten-fold.  Before you criticise or complain about something ask yourself  'what could I be thankful for in this situation?'

Much love people.

Thankful Thursday

Hey lovely people :)

After posting last Friday instead of Thursday, I've decided to do my Thankful Thursday every fortnight.  The last two weeks have been very busy and definitely eventful!  I've tried to make a real effort to remember to be thankful.  Especially in moments where I catch myself taking things for granted.  Sometimes I am on autopilot, but I'm practising being in the moment and feeling thankful.

This fortnight I have been thankful for...

Libraries.  I think being able to take home and read a book for free is amazing.  People need never buy books again!  I am always encouraging people to read, not just for study but for pleasure.  I love nothing more than to spend time perusing the book shelves of a library: reading is my favourite pastime.

My wonderful friend Kayla ( a little message to you as I know you are reading)  I could laugh forever with you!  Thank you for being such a good friend.  You are honest, respectful and so generous.  This week you have really diffused my stress levels.  When I forget to act with love, you remind me.  I hope you enjoy your moustache ;)

                  Always remember!

Water.  Last Saturday was world water day.  During the day I spent some time beside a canal and I thought how blessed I was to be able to watch water flow...while other people do not even have any to drink.  How mad is that?!  We switch on a tap at our leisure and some people walk miles to source water.  One of the many injustices of the world.  I am thankful for water whenever I turn on a tap, run a bath, or walk by a waterway.

Free water complete with wading ducks.

A roof over my head.  This is another big thing I am thankful for.  I am blessed with a lovely home, running water, electricity and comfort.

My neighbour.  There are some neighbours that are the 'Hi' and 'Bye' type, and there are those that become friends (that was unintentional, but I bet you're all singing the song now).  I have a neighbour who is just wonderful! She is more than just a neighbour and I am very thankful for her.

My bed.  At the end of everyday I slip into my sheets and thank god.  It is difficult to wake up in the morning and continue your day, whilst you are tired.  The hardest thing is going through the day wanting to be in bed asleep.  I try to avoid this happening because it makes me feel rubbish.  But sometimes I am up late working and thats when sleep has to take a backseat.  I really will be making sure I can spend more time with my bed next week.

My phone.  I recently got a new phone, and I am fascinated by its ability.  The camera is amazing.  I have been taking loads of pictures lately.  Everyone keeps commenting on how clear my camera is and I love it! It means a lot to me to take photos so I do it often (also, probably getting carried away taking selfies).  Apps, camera and music: all luxuries I am grateful for.

My mister.  His support this week has been invaluable!  He has been my driving force in the lonely graveyard hours while I study, my common sense during indecisive moments and my inspiration when I have hit a brick wall.  I am so blessed.

Always live in the moment.  All we have is right now.
Lots of love.

Thankful Thursday!

So its my first one of these! I make a habit to count my blessings regularly, so Thankful Thursday is going to be alot of fun!

Today I was waiting for inspiration to fall into my lap; something to come to me.  It happened to me as  I was walking down a hill.  The weather was gorgeous and the sun was beating down in front of me.  I turned to my friend and said "Gosh, Im hot, how much further do we have to walk, I'm tired!" My friend replied "I do this walk every day with my bad knee."  She has a knee injury after an accident. In that moment, I was thankful to have fully operating joints- something I obviously take for granted! I am able bodied and fit, what a blessing!

I am also thankful for sugar.
Yes sugar.  Since I abandoned sugar in the spirit of lent (I know, what was I thinking) I have come to appreciate its gift. Tea without honey is a sad existence. No more pick-me-ups from ye old sweet shop.  And no sugar frosted cereals for breakfast.  Where it gets really crazy is when you discover there is sugar in salt and vinegar Snack-a-Jacks! I now check the ingredients in everything but fruit. Mainly because fruit doesnt come with a list of ingredients,  but also because its the only thing that doesnt contain man-made sugar.  Thats the deal; no man-made sugar/added sugar. I invite you to check the ingredients list of a few items you may decide to consume, you may be surprised!

I was lucky enough to get some me-time this week.  On Wednesday, the sun was shining so I headed to the park.  I sat, walked and basked in the sun for two full hours. Nothing but peace and quiet with my new book and my blogging diary.  It was bliss.

As well as that I was also thankful for
                                                            Toilet Roll
                                                  My college homies
                                                  My new phone

What are you thankful for? Are you counting your blessings? Do you appreciate your circumstances?

Thank you for reading :)
Until next time xxx
