Let's have a blessed week (without social media interference)!

Happy Monday!!!!

Today and for the rest of this week, I have set myself a 'challenge' if you will, to pay less attention to social media.  Instead I will fine solace in hugging large bears and painting Unicorns by numbers.

I personally find social media is something that can eat away at your time  unintentionally.  Not only that, but images and opinions of others can affect us in a negative way.  The internet is open to any and everything with no filter, so we cannot control what we witness. Or can we?

Weeding out the bad stuff
Take a few minutes out of your social media perusal time and actually look at who you are following, what images/text they are uploading, and the comments YOU leave on their posts.  Now ask yourself if these things are helpful to your life and mindset.

Further digging
Now not only that but we can limit ourselves to a small amount of time networking.  Having a quick look through your feed after you have uploaded something, is a big difference to spending 30 minutes finding out who's hating and who's dating from your old skool friends.

Social media is a brilliant way to connect with the world but it can also be something we allow to feed our insecurities and become obsessed with.

Goal- Spend little to no time on social media after uploading (if I choose too).
I will be logging out of my accounts.

Positive thought- It is far better to communicate face to face, so this is what I will endeavour to do.

What are your thoughts on the use of social media?  Has it affected you in a negative way? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Have a blessed week.

Let's have a blessed week!

Happy Monday!!!

How is your day going today?  Has anything exciting happened?  What have you achieved?
As I eat my cheese bagel and read over my email from Inner Space it got me thinking... Are we happy with dissatisfied with circumstances or ourselves?

Last night I took my mind away to a sunny beach, with white sand and palm trees.  College is stressful sometimes and the work load is heavy.  But if I went on holiday wouldn't the stress just be removed temporarily?  Wouldn't it be here when I got back?  So how can it be my circumstances that are the cause of my stress.  Holidays do not cure stress.

This morning's email was entitled 'The Way Things are'.  It asked, after we change things around in our lives, how soon are we discontent again?  The most effective way to conquer discontentment is to start with contentment.  Creating contentment with our current circumstances; the way things are arranged and our routine at this current moment.  Only then can we think about making changes to what we are not happy with.

So that's what this weeks goal is!

Goal- Becoming content with my current position in life.  Inner satisfaction.

Positive Thought- Being thankful for my current position in life.  I think I will make a list of all the things I am experiencing in my life and why I should be thankful for them.  What do those situations mean? And what new circumstances will follow?

You can sign for a Thought for Today email over at Inner Space.  Their emails are beautiful and really give you food for thought.  I fully recommend!

Have a blessed week everyone. Much love xx Peach.

Spending time is precious.

For the past three/four weeks I have been avoiding doing my coursework.  And I mean avoiding in the sense that I find other more enjoyable tasks to partake in, when I should be concentrating on my studies; classic procrastination.
Although, I do complete my work in the end, the journey to get it done is so long winded!  I evaluate how I've spent my time and regret not doing priority tasks sooner.  My procrastination activities are always the same- Snapchat with my friends and other time consuming apps, playing Sims, catching up on my shows on the iPad and reading.
This week I have decided to try to eradicate these distractions.  I came across this on Instagram-

We all have the same 24 hours, but how is it some manage to do more than others??
Why do we always state that 'there are not enough hours in the day'?

Isn't it funny how we always make time for pleasurable activities but don't seem to have enough time when it comes to doing the things we NEED to do.  This is definitely true for me!

I know I need to spend my time wisely.  I want to achieve more than I currently do and I have no doubt that it's possible.  I congratulate myself on being able to recognise that I need to change this aspect of my life.

So this week, I have pledged to avoid avoiding my priority tasks.  I'll organise my time to fit in all that I need to do, then slot in leisure activities in my remaining time.  And I will definitely be turning my phone off during study mode!

So, it's goodbye procrastination; hello advancement.
How are you procrastinating? Do you spend your time wisely?

Love. xx

Positive vs Negative.

Positivity has been my theme of the week.

I am so thankful that I am able to recognise when an injection of positivity is needed (albeit I'm not perfect but I am better than I used to be).

This week a lot of negativity has been floating around me: uncomfortable atmospheres, unnecessary comments, downtrodden faces, defeatist attitudes.  Usually I can still function in these situations but this week I have felt dragged down. LIMIT REACHED!!

I have made a pact with myself to ignore negativity.  When I encounter it, I will think of something positive and smile.  I will not be dragged into conversations of a negative nature or respond to negative comments.  I understand people have different outlooks on life and different issues to deal with, but I also know what my limits and what I am capable of.

To combat negativity we must look at the other side of the coin.  Look harder at things, be thankful and remember tough times do not last (tough people do! I have a million quotes haha).  But also we must carry out positive actions and read positive material.  How are you drawing positivity into your life?  Do your actions convey a positive outlook?

I wish everyone around me and all who are reading this nothing but love and light.  I send healing to those in need of love an reassurance, and positive energy to those struggling through life.

I will leave you with this quote that I learned from a friend-

"Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at will change." - Wayne W. Dyer

Have a blessed weekend everyone xxx
