Music for the soul- Luther Vandross

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the death of Luther Vandross.  
This song 'A House is not a Home', is one of my favourite songs of his, bar 'Dance with my Father'.  Although originally recorded by Dionne Warwick, Vandross's version is renowned as something special.
This live performance of the song is from the NAACP awards on 1988.  Dionne Warwick can be seen in the audience marvelling at the vocal ability of Vandross, and I am inclined to agree that is definitely out of this world! 

It is not only Luther's tone of voice, but the ease with which he performs -often adding adlibs- that I find amazing.  Have a listen and see for yourself. 


For those of you who like a bit of music trivia, this song was sampled on the track 'Slow Jamz' by Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx and Twista.


I just wanted to share with you all a remarkable singer and a great song.  
Continue to rest in peace Mr. Vandross.
