Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

Sinead from Dreaming Again has been kind enough to nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award.  Thank you Sinead! You can check out Sinead's beautiful blog here.

Here are the rules-
Thank and link the blogger who nominated you
Include the award logo in your post
Answer the set of 10 questions that the blogger who nominated you has provided
Supply you own set of questions
Nominate 10 other bloggers

1. What advice would you give to your younger self?
Hmmm..that is a hard one...
I would say... focus on school and family life. Believe in yourself and do better, because you are more than able.

2. What is your favourite thing to do when you have nothing to do?
I usually stare into the abyss for 30 minutes before realising I have tons of books to read.  Also, my iPad chases boredom away like the fire of a thousand dragons, singeing a rats tail.

3. Why did you decide to start a blog?
Because Kayla told me too. She didn't force me, but I toyed with the idea after she told me she had one.  I like to talk/write and she coerced me into setting up the blog.  I am very glad she did!  I am not sure I would have had the courage to do it otherwise.  In fact I am pretty sure I would not have.  So thank you Sheepy x

4. If you could live in any other country in the world where would it be?
I always talk about retiring in Guam.

5. Would you rather spend £100 all on make-up or clothes?
Definitely clothes, because make-up has a shelf life, and I don't wear that much of it.  I would make a £100 go very far, on clothes.

6. If you could give one piece of advice to a large audience what would it be?
Love freely and be thankful.  Gratitude is abundance is the key to happiness.  Love makes the world go round.  Love even when you feel it is not deserved.  Those are the people who need it most.

7. Would you rather have to eat Chinese or Italian food for the rest of your life?
Chinese.  I love Chinese food!

8. If you could go on a date with one celebrity who would it be?
Hmmmm....it would have to be Eminem.

9. What specific character trait do you want to be known for?
Making people smile, laugh, chuckle.

10. What is your biggest pet peeve?
I can't decided between people chewing with their mouth open or slurping tea.

I nominate...

Sarah at Sarah Smiles
Jeanette and Louise at Jeanie and Lulu's Kitchen
Anastasia at Anastasia Amour
Jessica at Gingerly Pale
Corinne at Skinned Car Tree
Lauryn at Lauryn's Notebook

My questions are...
1.  What gives you the greatest satisfaction in life?
2.  At what point in your life, if you had made a different decision, could you have lived a different lifestyle?
3.  What is happiness, to you?
4.  If you could pick a skill to be brilliant at, what would it be?
5.  Imagine you could not fail: which one of your dreams would you go about achieving?
6.  Name a book you think everyone should read in their lifetime.
7.  Have you ever had a great experience that you will always remember?
8.  Your friends invite you out for the night, where do you go, what do you drink and what do you wear?
9.  Do you class yourself as a messy person or tidy person, and why?
10.  What is your favourite variety of cake?

At Christmas time....

Christmas is a time to celebrate family, new birth and loved ones.  A christian festival that celebrates the birth of Jesus.  It has got to be the most celebrated festival in the world.

Picture a child who rates Christmas as one of her favourite times of the year.  The child's nanny cooking.  The whole family spending time together.  Fond memories of eating a wonderful Christmas dinner, Cadbury's chocolate selection boxes and television marathons 'til late.  That time she received the Monopoly board game and asked her uncles and aunt to join in.... That would be her best memory forever.

Fast forward a few years and life is not the same.  No longer the whole clan sitting together, because one is missing.  Nanny is gone.  No longer will that child witness her beloved relative watch over the precious turkey.  Nor will she have those special hugs and the love no one can replicate.  The house she grew up in gone, all those memories lost.  It can only be described as a sad time.

While most would treasure times that were, carrying with them the recollection of happier times, striving to achieve the once beautiful magic of Christmas, this child did not.  Burned from the absence of her dearest nanny, she repels all that Christmas is, seeing only the negative; splashing out on gifts and food overdoses.  Each year from December 1st, the familiar dread of the repetitive feeling of loss.  "I hate Christmas".

How can one change their outlook?  She never thought it would ever be the same.  And yet, there was hope.  There is always hope.  It takes a certain situation, a winding process or a defining moment to bring about change.  She got her change.

Unafraid of her pessimism and dismissals, he coached her; guided her, showed her, what it means to 'celebrate'.  Celebrate and rejoice.  By way of love, her eyes were opened and she felt.  For the first time in as long as she could remember, she felt.  "Christmas should be about family celebrating each other", she said.  "So make it about that", he replied.  And that is what she did.

No longer a child herself, she thought about her offspring.  Their excitement over gifts and good food.  Every adult knows, that Christmas is magical for children.  Her Unicorn lovers should have the same magic she had.  Definitely.

Nanny would be proud.  Look at her little granddaughter keeping her memory alive.  Look at her living, enjoying Christmas.  Finally she is free from her demons, she can create more wonderful memories for her children.

That is what Christmas is all about.

Since you've been gone...

I know that the Universe removes people from your life for a reason.  They say that people that leave you, are not meant to continue with you on to the next phase of your life.  In those moments, it is not always clear why....sometimes its not always clear after...all you have left is your faith in the Universe that everything has worked out for the best, and you have to trust that.

But I'm human (which basically means I have emotions).  So I am emotional.  I trust the Universe, but I don't always understand.  I wish I did.  It can be hard for someone to leave you behind and not know why.  Every human wants to know why!

I have been ditched, abandoned and treated badly, sometimes for reasons I cannot fathom.  I have sat down with so many questions, and only had myself to answer them because the other person has checked out.  The Universe tells I have the answers.  All I have to do is look harder, think outside the box and look at things from a different angle.  How many times should I do that until I find an answer that makes sense??  That feels like defeat.

In reality the defeat lies in letting someone elses actions affect you.  When you say it aloud it seems silly. You let someone affect you when they are no longer a part of your life? Worrying over someone while they live their life without you? Silly.  I'm still human though.  Its not healthy to hold on to sadness/regret/anger about an absent person.  I am going to let it go now.

To all who have left my life, I forgive you.  I understand we were not meant to continue together.  I trust that the Universe separated me from you, for my own good.  We had some good times, which I will always remember.  I wish you nothing but love and blessings.  Always.  If you ever see me, know that I missed you for a bit.  Know that I thought about you for a while.  Most of all, remember that I continued my life without you.

Much love, Peachy x

2014 you have been....

We all have a golden ticket.  We all have a golden chance to make our way. And with our golden tickets, its a golden day.

Wow. The last month of 2014.  I can remember what I was doing exactly this time last year, I can remember what I was doing on January 1st 2014.

What a difference a year makes!

I can definitely say I am not doing the same thing I was doing in January 2014.  Things have changed.  Events have happened.  Lessons have been learned.  Friends have been made.  Birthdays have been had.  Above all we are blessed.

And that is my lesson of the year for sure.  Blessings.  How can we go after the things we want when we do not believe in what we already have?  Let us be thankful for what we have.  For, there are people out there fighting for the very position we are taking for granted.  Everything you have, is someone else's dream.

Someone would give their right arm to have a child, to have that job you detest, to have a loyal boyfriend who burps in front of your parents, to live in that nice flat you can't be bothered to clean...  Focussing on what you do not have only brings more of negative feelings.  Remember what you have, and blessing will fall upon you in abundance.

You know those days where everyone is getting on your nerves and you're 'having a bad day'?  That's your attitude.  Your ungratefulness.  Your negative mind-set.

"Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at will change."

Funnily enough lessons and such come to you in the strangest of times.  2014 has been an eventful year.  I have had wonderful things happen in my life, some not so good things and had news that I would rather not have had.  I have been through every emotion possible.  I have lived harder than the previous year, and had some real highlights that I will treasure forever.  I do not think I am the same person who started 2014.

Whatever your year has been like, always remember you have memories, time is a great healer and every second is a chance to live better than before.

I wish you all a blessed December.  Much love xxx

Those Life Changing Reads.

There are times in your life where you are drawn to certain books, for whatever reason, and when you get into the book, things around you start to make sense.  Have you ever felt that?  Some books just speak to your heart.  This one sung to my Unicorn's hoofs.

I will admit, it took me a couple of months to finish it, but I'm okay with that.  I find that these kind of books call out for you when you need them.

Last weekend I was feeling like I didn't know my purpose in life, like I didn't have what I wanted.  I spoke to my friend and she told me to just be thankful.  Focus on what you do have, and be thankful for it.  You have to learn to love life- that starts with appreciation of your blessings.  We are all blessed whether we recognise it or not.  Many people will go through the pain of not having the life, that you are being ungrateful for.  We must remember that happiness is a feeling, like upset, sadness and excitement.  Feelings do not last forever.  Enjoy happiness while it is present.  Understand that it isn't never ending, but that it is coming back!  The sooner we can accept this, then we will soon notice happiness come and go more often.  After that conversation, the next day I picked up Manuscript Found in Accra and the chapter I was at, supported much of what my friend had said.

The story of a man who offers wisdom and reality to a group of people who await their countries invasion, is well worth the read.  Get yourself a copy, take a deep breath and get stuck in.

Much love. xxx

Let's Have A Blessed Week

Let music be our words, our thoughts, our guidance.

This morning I have been listening to Rabbit Holes by Thology Feat. Maeve.  Ahhhhh what a groove!  This is the type of tune you want to be listening to when you wake up on a Monday! Have a listen here.

Music is so powerful.  If you are not much of a music listener, find something you like a give it a whirl.  Music should uplift you, invoke emotions and provide you with a outlet to just 'let go'.  Shall we try it? Just let go this week!  At any given opportunity; lose yourself in the music.

"If it wasn't for the music I don't know what we'd do.  You know the music stepped in and saved my life." ~ DJ Narrows, Saved Soul
There is a never-ending supply of music out there.  You will be sure to find something that rocks your Unicorn.

Goal- Take five or ten minutes a day, and get down to something funky.  Out your headphones on, or turn your speakers up and jam.

Positive Thought- Letting go of thoughts and inhibitions for a few minutes can do no harm.  In fact, its probably a very healthy thing to do!

I'd love to hear what you're listening to, so feel free to let me know.

Have a blessed week! Much love x

Let's Have a Blessed Week

Stand back and focus.

There is a saying that goes...to be honest I can't remember the exact words, but its something like 'you shouldn't worry during tough times because they don't last.'  (I'm pretty sure that's nothing like it, but the interpretation is the same).

It is so easy to get caught up in a bad mood or let things affect you so much that they cause you stress.  Can we gain some perspective please?  Remove yourself from the situation, take out your lens and focus on the bigger picture.  Chances are you will realise that whatever you are buggin' about will not matter in 5 years time.  And that's the million dollar question; 'will this matter in 5 years time?'
If you answer yes, then ask yourself the question again, and consider it properly.

Don't get me wrong, there are situation that can be devastating, which may affect your life further down the line...  It seems that human can focus on the little things a lot more than they should and those are the issues I am referring to.

Have a go this week.  I am in for a busy one so I will be sure to need perspective. Let your positive thought be that you can overcome your feelings of not being able to deal with the situation.  Control the situation by asking the question, so as not to let the situation overwhelm you.  You would not believe the things I have stressed about, only to feel like a fool 10 minutes later when everything becomes okay again.  Now I know I have the power to diffuse a bad mood/stress.

I wish you all a wonderful week.  Sending you lots of love and good vibes xxx

From Where I Stand...

From where I stand, Love makes the world go round.  Love is the centre of the Universe.  I aim to act with Love as I go about my daily routines.  I endeavour to think of others and be there for those who need me.  I want to surprise my loved ones with affection and warmth so they can be reminded of Love.

Life is beautiful.  Stop and take a minute.  Look not at the pavement in front of you, but up and around; above your head and to the neighbour next to you.  Really see the sky for what it is.  Really feel the warmth of the sun and fresh air on your face.  Do not just glance at the trees, but take in their colours and shapes.  Autumn is here, did you realise?

Have you noticed that, there are things you do not notice?  We go through life with our eyes wide shut, forgetting all that we have experienced, neglecting our love of things that we regularly do.  Put your all in, 'give it some welly!'  Be present while you wash the dishes.  Show up to do the ironing.  Feel alive as you sort out your clothes for the next morning.

When did we stop living?

Happy Saturday. xxx

Because I gotta have faith?

This beautiful picture of Jersey Shore, USA was taken by my cousin.

I have been wondering if it is possible to live a complete life without believing in something.

For many years I have read books on spirituality, the law of attraction and positivity. As much as I have evolved since doing this, lately I cannot help but feel I am searching for something I am not going to find.

Believing in a faith or whatever it is you choose, comes with great responsibility.  The minute you tell people your beliefs they judge you purely on them, whether it may be something you have just discovered or been trying to incorporate for longer. I am especially talking about people who do not even share your beliefs! I have found it hard to live up to my beliefs for this reason.

I have always believed in God but stopped going to church as I got older.  However, I did start to attend not long ago, and while I found it uplifting and moving, I asked myself if I really needed to be there. I started to go because I just had a feeling. Something was telling me to go.  A few months down the line I needed the support of the church at an important event, and I never received it. I initially thought, they are a church how could they not support me on this? I didn't go back after that.  When the anger dissipated after two weeks, I realised something else was stopping me going back.  I was numb to the idea of returning yet part of me felt I should be there every Sunday. Weeks turned into months and at this point in time I just don't know if it is for me.  All I feel is pressure from others to return.  I thought I needed church to be a better person.  I thought my life would change when I went. I am not sure if it did.  After those couple of weeks of not going I tried to psyche myself up on a Saturday evening to make an effort to go, but I would get up Sunday morning and I just wouldn't.  I see some of the congregation around my town and I swear they are slightly off with me. As if me not going to church has personally affected them. Why do some people with faith view others as lesser beings?

Before church I had the Universe and the law of attraction. I believed positive things happened if you radiated positive energy and staring negativity in the face with positivity was the only way to combat it.  I have researched these beliefs, read books and been guided by friends who feel the same...but- and this may sound ridiculous-  on Saturday I was on a mission to visit a couple places in central London and I kept finding myself in situations that tested me. A man tried to intimidate me on train, then strangers kept bumping into us as we walked down the road. 2/3 people even knocked into my little people and just walked off! I was so frustrated I just sat down and let my blood boil. And someone send to me 'think positive'. I thought what the hell?! I got up in a wonderful mood with the intention of having a fabulous day and these things have happened to me and I am still meant to think positively. I felt stabbed in the back by the universe.

While this event may seem insignificant it actually just made me think 'I can't be doing everything wrong!', 'when does the course of events change?!'.  It dawned on me that I have spent so much of my life trying to live a certain way that I actually think it is working against me.  How sad that the very belief that was my salvation should now be what is preventing me from living.  In that moment I decided I am done with it.   In that moment I understood why some people say they believe in nothing. In that moment I decided to stop searching, stay away from the mind body and spirit section in book shops and start LIVING.

So back to my question, I wonder if you can live a complete life without believing in something? My answer is yes. I came to that conclusion after speaking with a friend who reminded me we can learn from stories of any faith or discovery of life, that it is not just about beliefs but our opinions and attitudes towards life. People grow, people learn, people evolve.

Funnily enough, I now feel free like a weight have been lifted. I am happy with myself. I am living in the present moment.

I really appreciate you all reading. Much love x

Thankful Thursday

When in doubt, have a donut.

Ooooh I'm back for a second week running with my Thankful Thursday (Kayla I'm sure you are proud).  There are certain weeks where you really need to be thankful.  And I mean that, there are weeks where things seem difficult, and it is those times that we really need to remember to be thankful.

Study days have been a godsend for me this week.  I am so blessed to have one, two or even three study days a week.  That really means a lot to me and my family.  I am pretty sure God knows this as I regularly praise him for delivering me such a blessing.

Donuts. Doughnuts.  Such delightful sugary goodness.  Gifted to me by my Unicorn lovers for keeping me warm on study evenings.  They joined me for breakfast on  a random Sunday morning last week.  Sweet deliciousness.

Lessons.  Yes, I have learned even more this week!  It seems the perfect opportunity to grow personally and spiritually never eludes me; blessing number three.

Date nights and takeaways.  'Spending time is precious.'

The absence of social media apps.  I am thankful for the silence of my phone.  I no longer have constant Whats App messages going off or Instagram notifications to tend to, or  Snapchat to aid my procrastination..  It really is magical.

Kindle Unlimited.  FREE BOOKS! I discovered this while casually browsing through the Kindle page on Amazon.  I nearly sprouted wings and flew I was so excited.  You pay a set price a month and have an access to over 650,000 books.  A-MAZING.  I do not know what they never thought of it before.  As an avid reader and book fanatic I think it is the best thing since Unicorn dust.
(Have a look here)

Tea.  There has been a cup of tea for every emotion this week.  Where would I be without tea? (Probably drinking coffee and that is just not acceptable).

I am also thankful for YOU.  THANK YOU for reading.  I send love to each and everyone of you who reads my posts.  Lots and lots of love.

Thankful Thursday

Its Thursday! Happy Thursday!  This week I am inspired by my wonderful friend Kayla's blog The Giggles of Life.  I adore her Thankful Thursday posts every week.  They put me in a beautiful mood and fill me with love and joy.  I am inspired to make more of an effort to be thankful and add more to my documentation about such thankfulness.  So, first and foremost I am thankful for Kayla and her wonderful blog.

This week has been an interesting one.

I am grateful I have been able to spend some time with my family.

I have also been able to learn some much needed lessons, however hard it might have been to learn them!  Experience is always something to be grateful for, in my book.  Where would we be without mistakes and experience?  I thank the Universe for teaching such lessons.

It has been amazing to just be, this week.  I never imagined I would be where I am in life.  I am blessed to be doing what I am doing, living the life I live and having love surround me.  I promise to try and recognise love no matter what form it presents itself in.

The rain is tedious to most but here I am thanking the Universe for it!.  It seems to have been so long since it has rained that I actually do not mind.  I remind my little Unicorn lovers, if they ever grumble about the downpour, that there are countries praying for rain, countries going through drought, countries needing rain but having to go without. Let us be thankful water falls from the sky when it feels like it.

Over this next week I wish you all abundance of thankful moments, oodles of love and frequent showers of joy.  It may be gloomy outside sometimes, but let the sun always shine in your heart.

New Social Media Habits

Follow @mastinkipp on Instagram.

I tweet less, upload less, post less and browse less.

I have come to the conclusion that social media doesn't have to be used constantly.  I used to mock those who do not have accounts, now I wonder if they're minds are less polluted than mine.  Probably not.

About two weeks ago, I decided to lessen my use of my social media accounts; namely Twitter and Instagram and Whats App.  I deleted my apps for a weekend to test the waters, and it felt great.  This lead me to extending that for a few more days, then I decided to get them back, upload what I wanted to, then log out of my accounts.  Personally, it is the browsing that gets me.  I can spend ages scrolling though my timeline.  I mean ages in the sense that I could probably cook a meal from scratch and consume it, in the same amount of time.

Social media browsing is not the best use of time, not just because dinner is late, but because of all the negative exposure to other peoples post.  I have reduced my negative intake -for want of a better phrase- by unfollowing any account that doesn't display images of a wonderful, positive nature (or unicorns).  What I deem as negative, does not necessarily scream negative to you, but to give you an idea, I do not choose to follow anyone that highlights drama and soap style scenarios, promotes sexism/nudity, discusses celebrity gossip or promotes food or acts I do not believe in.

I will be honest and say I feel better for it.  I feel better seeing love and positivity on my timeline.  I follow people I know, yoga loving individuals, book readers and vegans.  I enjoy filling my mind with organic recipes, yoga poses and my next would be reads.  I waant images and captions to uplift me, not fuel my fire of pain.  Does your timeline make you feel better?

I fully intend on making this permanent change to how I use social media.  I firmly believe it can enhance your life if used correctly, however it definitely shouldn't become your life.

What do you think?

Let's Have A Blessed Week

Shall we take a moment?

A moment to just be; be still. Be us.  Be calm.  Just be.  It's OK not to just...sit.  Allowing ourselves to be dragged through life, never really noticing our actions or surroundings, creates a lack of enjoyment.  A lack of life.

Just be.  Don't think. Just, be.

You shouldn't have to be bogged down in sand to be still.

Take five and concentrate on your moment.  Be fully present. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.  Count 10 repetitions.  You are blessed.  Say it aloud.  You are blessed.  Say it louder!  Now we you can resume your regular scheduled programming.  Only this time try to be in the moment and not floating off elsewhere.  Practise makes perfect; you will get better and better at just be-ing.

Remember it is OK to just be.  Taking stock for 5 minutes will not hurt anyone, least of all you.  Take 2 minutes if you don't have 5!  Try it, at least once a day.  It is OK to 'just be'.

Have a blessed week!

Much love, Peachy x

Let's Have a Blessed Week

Time.

Time is the only thing that cannot be regained once it is spent.  This weekend, I was forced to be reminded how precious time is, how short life can be.  I take time for granted too much, although I am sure I am not the only one.  Once time has gone, you wonder why you did not appreciate it more.  That is regret.  Regret is an ugly feeling... Coupled with guilt, it can wear you down.  Nobody wants to feel guilty.  What brings me hope is that I know how I can appreciate my time.  Time with my loved ones, time with my friends, time with people whom I care for and treasure.

Often we put off spending time with people in favour of work commitments or something less important.  We make plans only for them to fall through, we keep telling ourselves we will meet up with Tom, Dick or Harry, and we make promise after promise to 'see each other soon' only to neglect that pact when we find other more frivolous activities to partake in.  In all honesty, people do not mean to do those things, they just assume everyone will be around.  Forever.

With this thought in mind I have come to the conclusion that this weeks goal is...

Goal-  To spend time with my loved ones and those precious people, in any shape or form.

Positive Thought-  I have the power to appreciate time.  I know how to appreciate time.  I can enhance my life and the life of others just by spending some time.

To all my readers, new and old, please spend your time wisely.  Love those who love you back and cherish your nearest and dearest.

Love and blessings to you and yours.  Have a blessed week.

Much Love, Peachy x

6 Month Blog Anniversary

I just want to share some good vibes today...

I have been blogging for 6 months today.  I am not afraid to say that I am proud of The Randomness of Unicorns!  I love what I write, and I write what I love.  I feel happy, elated and free.  What joy it is, to have a space where you can freely display your thoughts, express your ideas and spread love.  It makes me happy to have 2 people read my post, it makes me happy to have 20 people read my post.  I aim to inspire.  Or at least trigger a different pattern of thought.

While I am writing this, I am singing along to some old skool tunes on the radio, with the sun shining through the window.  I also have toothache.  What is important is that I have reached a milestone.  Milestones can sometimes be emotional.  I have no idea why.  If we really think about it, every minute of every day is a milestone; so I guess that makes life emotionalHowever, emotional does not always mean negative.  I think it means experiencing everything.  It could also mean experiencing everything in a positive way- including the negative.  Right now I am going to look at this toothache positively and thank the Universe for reminding me I need to book my dentist appointment.

On that note, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Friday.  Go out and spread love today.  Go out and do good.  Make someone's day.

Much love xx

Let's Have A Blessed Week

Happy Tuesday!

Lately, I have been thinking about how I can better organise myself for my next year of study.  Being properly organised leaves no room for error.  To be organised it to have complete control (obviously there are some things that are beyond our control, so we will not refer to those).

"Without order there is chaos, without structure there is instability, without discipline there is lack of personal growth."

Organisation requires self discipline.  How can we set out to achieve, without first having the drive to create structure and keep to our plans?  Effort and enthusiasm alone cannot ensure we achieve what we set out.  It is discipline that drives us to our end result.  It is discipline that carries us from A to B.

It is very easy to write a to-do list or compose a five year plan, but without drive, your list will become another piece of paper gathering dust on your desk, that eventually gets thrown out with the recycling.

This week I am concentrating on honing in on my drive.  My discipline.

Goal- Planning is key.  I will organise my week using lists and such and ensure I complete what I set out, concentrating on one item at a time, using self-discipline to determine the outcome.

Positive Thought- Adopting an "I can" attitude.

I'm spreading the love; Over to you!  Blessings to you as you go about your disciplined week. :)

Much love xx

The research for this post and the quote provided was taken from The Reach Approach

What does our anger tell us?

I believe that anger is not a real emotion.  I always remind myself, when I am faced with someone's angry façade, that it is a mask for upset or hurt.

However, my own anger has me believe that it is very real!  It takes a lot of persuasion for me to break down the emotion and figure out what the real issue is.  Can I say annoyance?  Annoyance in abundance.  But of course there are times when it is actually hurt.

"He who angers you, conquers you." - Elizabeth Kenny

While the other party may be angry, your own anger only inhibits you.  Seconds, minutes and hours lost over intense negative emotion about another human being, is a waste of precious life to be honest.  Yes, easy to say, much harder to do.  As always, practise makes perfect.

Next time Hulk threatens to shred his clothes and make an appearance from the depths of your soul, break down the 'anger' and work out why you feel that way.  Why YOU feel that way: because you are responsible for your emotions.  No one else.  Think about it.

Do you feel better now? I do.

Much love xx

Those Days

Those days when the weather offers no light just grim grey skies and damp earthy mugginess.  Days of frustration mixed with claustrophobia.  Why cant we escape?  Escapism starts in the mind and stays only there.  A man in a 12 by 10ft cell can have infinite freedom if he has the right mind-set, while people in apartments and four bedrooms houses with two bathrooms, may not see the wood for the trees.

Open up your little mind and think outside your box.  I wish you could see that the world is bigger than your self-inflicted painful thoughts.  Darling, you are only harming yourself.  The word passes you by while you beat yourself up; your family, your friends, they are living.  Replaying your guilt achieves nothing but anguish and feeds the cycle of evil.  Don't you know cycles never end?

Do not be another one defeated by the cycle; you can run farther than the rest.  Use that beautiful strength to persevere.  You display such courage!  Alas, in the wrong departments.  Swap the misplaced emotions and slot them into the correct situations.  One day you will watch every thing come together and remember these words.  Can you envision that day?  Try harder.

The Universe grants that which we visualise.  Imagine the anxiety-free happiness.  The lack of low self esteem.  One day.  One day there will be no more of those days.

The End.

The Reading Tag

I was excited when I came across this tag on Oh! Leona and thought "ooohhhh this is interesting!" :)

Sippin' on Pukka Three Cinnamon Tea while I read on the train

1. Do you have a certain place for reading at home?
I love my sofa. My dream spot would be a window seat in a cosy little fireplaced, room, off a well stocked library in a large house.  Preferably my house.

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Both.  Whenever I visit a library or bookstore I collect a free book mark.  However, I am adept at making my own or using postcards or something written down that means something to me- a motto or personal reminder.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or certain number of pages?
I'll finish the paragraph.

4. Do you eat or drink when reading?
Nothing beats a cup of tea when settling down with a book.  The odd glass of wine can be special teamed with a good read.  If I am out in a park some cold and icy if the weather is nice.

5. Do you watch tv or listen to music when reading?
The tv will not com between a good book that holds my interest.  when travelling I will sometimes put my ear phones in to block out the world while I read.

6. One book at a time or several at once?
Several at a time.  As time has gone on I seem to have developed a short concentration span.  So I can jump from one book to another.  It depends what mood I'm in with regards to what I want to read. I try to limit myself to one non-fiction and one fiction at a time.

7. Reading at home or anywhere?
I can read anywhere.  On the train, in parks, libraries, buses, cars...yes anywhere.

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently in my head.  If I am having trouble understanding something I will repeat it out loud.

9. Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?
I am not one for long winded descriptions so in parts like these I will skip ahead if I feel the book is worth reading still.  Sometimes you can find a really good story but its packed with useless descriptions and characters feelings so skipping that bit allows you to get back to the regular scheduled programming.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
Well.  Here's a revelation for you.  I have a kindle but still buy paperbacks. *horrified face*.  I absolutely love my kindle.  I got it for Christmas  just when Kindles made their debut and I was so delighted, because I was running out of room for any more books.  I still have it but I buy nonfiction books in paperback so I can make notes and go back and reference them later.  I buy the odd fiction paper when I spot a good deal, but only if it is cheaper than on Kindle (Kindle books are mostly always cheaper than print).  So, in regards to the question, ha, I don't tend to break the spine...I stretch it: not completely broken or completely new.

11. Do you write in your books?
Only in non-fiction books, for reference purposes.

12. What are you currently reading?
I currently have my nose in Manuscript Found in Accra by Paulo Coelho and The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill.

Picked this up today, and I am thoroughly enjoying it!

I hope you liked reading about how reading makes me feel!  I tag anybody who wishes to take part: if you do, be sure to leave your link below.

Did you know?

You’re a ghost, driving a meat coated skeleton made from stardust, what do you have to be scared of?  Your beauty is not in the shape of your flesh, the contours of your face, but the depth of your soul.  You are unique and God made you that way.

Are you happy where you are?  Not just physically but mentally.  Think.  Don’t like where you are? Move; you are not a tree!  Get up, sit down, walk about, come back.  CHOOSE to be happy.  Choose to be sad.  Choose to be content.  Choose to be determined.

Go out and get what you want from life, but make a plan first.  Write down where you want to be in 5 years time, 3 years time, 1 years time.  Too difficult? Plan the next 10 minutes.  Just make a plan.  List all the things you’d like to achieve.  Achievements can be based on what you love, what you enjoy, and what you are good at.

We all have talents.  Every single one of us.  Don’t think you’re very good at something? PRACTISE.  You can be better if you want to.  Grown-ups always tell their children- “go on, just try.”  In reality there is no ‘try’, only do or do not.  So, do. Do not, do not.  You can do it.  Believe in yourself.

That old cliché that ‘life is what you make it’.  Let’s make it good.  Spread love.  Be kind.  Talk to your family.  Help someone in need.  Ask your relative if they're ok.  Really listen to your friends.  Good things happen when we do good.  Blessings come in abundance when we do good.

Do you know now?  Do you know you can do anything you want? Have you realised the power you have to create?  Now tell someone else :)

Special People.

Life is full of good and bad people.  Both of which will teach you lessons.  Aside from them there is the odd special person who will walk in to your life and take your breath away.  I have one of those people.

I would like to dedicate my 70th post to the person who has only ever influenced my life positively- my best friend.

Without you, what would I be doing I wonder?  How would I have learnt to forgive and act with love?  Who else could I possibly talk to about making decisions (because I have so much trouble deciding)?

You may not always feel appreciated, but I promise you my heart sings for you.  Nobody is perfect but what matters is we try, right?  Thank you for trying.

In the hours that I am unsure you appear and remind me I am enough.  You remind me that I am doing the best I can.  We all need a little reminder right?  Thank you for reminding me.

When I need some comfort, you run to me with hugs, wrapping me in love and reassurance.  We all need hugs sometimes right?  Thank you for hugging me.

Even when I am physically alone I can feel your warm spirit in the depth of my heart, your gentle voice in the forefront of my mind, and I am able to envision your smiling face, ever so encouraging.

Thank you for being special.  Thank you for being you.  Thank you for being my best friend.  I love you.  Friends forever.

All my love xxx

Let's have a blessed week!

No more using camouflage against commitment!

Commitment.

Raising children is not easy, but doing so is a (big) commitment.  Kittens can be troublesome, but choosing to buy one is a commitment.  So what is commitment?  It can be described as sticking with something; a task or an activity.  I have also heard it described as 'continuing to do something, long after the mood you said you would do it in, has left'.  I think that is exactly it.

This week I have a commitment to something big.  Something I usually get fed up of half way through doing.  You're probably wondering why I am doing it then, and the answer is because it is not for me.  I am not doing it for me.
However, we all have self commitments; gym memberships, reading, eating habits.  This week I am choosing to focus on this one item.

Goal-  To carry out my commitment with the same positive attitude I had when I agreed to do it!

Positive Thought- I will remind myself that at some point I needed the same commitment from someone, and that committing to something for another person brings them great joy.

What are you committed to this week?

As always, have a very happy Monday and a blessed week.
Much love xxx

Robin Williams. Sunrise- 21st July 1951 : Sunset- 8th August 2014

(picture taken from Twitter)

Robin McLaurin Williams.  Actor, comedian, stand up comedian, film producer and screen writer.
The world is still in shock to hear that he passed away yesterday August 11th 2014.

I remember Robin from some of my favourite films as a child.  I loved to watch comedy films, films that made you giggle and howl with laughter.

I watched Robin play Batty Koda in Fern Gully, and transported us to a magical world of faries and magic ( way before Avatar).  I had the film on VHS and recall slotting the tape into the machine, whenever I could get the television on its own.

I know all the words to Aladdin.  The genie was always my favourite character and the great friendship him and aladdin had used to fill me with warmth.  I have this film in my collection today.

You could always catch Hook on television, on a Sunday afternoon.  Hook is one of those films that childhoods are made of. Robin made The character of Peter Pan come alive and fill us with dread about growing up, ha!

You will ALL be familiar with Robin playing the nanny Mrs. Doubtfire.  I loved the part where Uncle Frank and Aunt Jack tired and tested all of their make up and wax on Daniel to try and turn him into a woman.  And the famous line- "Helloooooooo dear!!!" When he emerges out the fridge with cake face to a shocked Mrs Sellner to which he replies "I'm sorry dear, I must look like a yeti in this." Hahahaha.

I also had Jumanji on VHS, where Robin played Alan Parrish.  My favourite line has to be when Sarah Whittle says "Well...a little rain never hurt anybody." And Alan replies "Yeah, but a lot can kill ya."  I used to fear the Hunter as a child.  I liked the bit when monkey Peter uses the axe he's looking for to get into the shed, then he realises what he's doing hahah.  And what about when the aunt calls the house for Judy and Peter- Judy picks up and puts on a posh English accent to say "Oh im sorry dear, I think you have the wrong number!" And promptly hangs up. Hahah can you tell I love that film. I own that on DVD too.

Robin also gave us the story of a mad scientist who created flubber, the tale of a young boy called Jack who ages rapidly, and a favourite of my little Unicorn lovers, Happy Feet, the penguin movie.  With a career spanning from 1977 until the present day, its safe to say Robin Williams made a mark in everyone's film collection or their splitting sides!

Haven't seen any of those?! How about-
Good will Hunting, Patch Adams, Bicentennial Man, A.I Artificial Intelligence, One Hour Photo, RV or. Night at the Museum to name a few. How about one of the 25 television shows he was in?  Mork and Mindy being the most recognised.

Mr. Robin Williams thank you for the memories sir. May god bless your soul and keep your loved ones. Your comedy will live on forever.  Much, much love. XXX

Nothing sweet about me. Yeah.

So, 'about me'.  Who am I?  Well you already know why I'm called Peachy (Peach, Peachy Peach, P).   But why would I prefer to be random with Unicorns than walk with alley cats?

I have put together a montage of juicy facts to help you move closer to discovering the answers.  My lucky number is 13, so 13 morsels of juiciness is what I shall present!

1. A book changed my life.
The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield was recommended to me about four years ago by a good friend.  I was at a point in my life where I was lost.  I knew that I did not want to continue living how I was, but I did not know where to go.  A whole new world opened up in front of me after I read this book.  I understood myself a lot better and life continued to progress positively from that moment onwards.

2. I am not particularly fond of ice cream.

3. I am a tea fanatic!
I will drink anything caffeine free; fruit tea, herbal tea, etc.  I have a cupboard in my kitchen with a plethora of varieties and flavours.

4. I know all the words to Home Alone 1 & 2.
My favourite film from my childhood.  To this day I still laugh at all the same parts. It never gets old.

5. I love to play board games.
My favourite is Monopoly.  At the moment we have 5 different versions in our house.

6. My speciality subject on Mastermind would be music.

7. Every Tuesday I read the television guide in the shop, to find out what will happen in all the soaps for that week...then I return it to the shelf.

8. I collect notebooks.
All sizes, all styles and different varieties of expense.  Believe me, there is a notebook for everything!

9.  I DO NOT eat bananas.

10. I recently found out that the place Diagon Alley in Harry Potter is actually a play on the word diagonally.
I'm sure everyone knew this but me.  Kayla looked at me like I was a Martian when she realised I did not know.

11. I laugh loudly in public.
I usually burst out laughing and end up with tears streaming down my face accompanied by some sort of screech or howl.

12.  My favourite cartoon as a child was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

13. A good friend once told me 'change the way you look at things, and the things you look at will change.'
If you think things are rubbish, I guarantee they will continue to be. Change your mind-set and things will look up :)

I would like to take this time to say thank you to all of you who are reading, who regularly read and who are reading for the first time.  I hope I have made you chuckle or at least inspired you to dash to WH Smith and read the TV guide.  Much love to you all xxx

Summer Photo Diary #1

The vibrant and cultural atmosphere of Camden Lock is a must-do on anyone's 'to-do list'.  Wrapped up in music and smiling faces while you sample the wears of street vendors, brings nothing but joy and peace as you walk the crowded market town.  Pick up a bargain on one of the famous market stalls, take a walk along the canal or simply mooch around and absorb the sights = bliss.

What is your favourite thing about visiting Camden?

Much Love. Peachy x

WIstful Moments in Manic Situations

There are some days when I would like to pack up my stuff and leave.  By leave, I mean that I would go somewhere remote and just be for a while. The city has too much going on, is too fast paced and feels too crowded for me sometimes.  I like nothing more than to have my own space when I can and to spend time in my own company.

I like to feel the wind on my face, smell fresh air and hear only the sounds of nature which my city rarely provides.  However, better than wishing things were different, is to adapt to the situation you are in.

I hope the Universe will allow me these few moments of wistfulness :)
