I was always taught to treat people how you want to be treated, but there are times in life where you want to treat others how you think they deserve! I struggle between this, and being Love.
Love wants us to treat each other as equals; to be rational, to be wise, to be caring, thoughtful, empathetic.
As humans we want to retaliate. To harm. To always be right. Everything Love is not.
Personally, I have to remind myself to act with Love in testing situations. If I feel someone is wrong/ putting me down, it becomes important to me to prove I am right- to have that person come around to my way of thinking. If am in a dispute with a friend and they refuse to communicate with me, eventually when that person comes around, my first instinct is to disregard them like they did me.
But what does that then say about me? Does it solve the conflict or exacerbate things? What I can tell you, is behaving in that way, stooping to that persons level, makes me feel crap. Like I have sold myself short; I know I am better than that behaviour, and it is definitely not in my nature. Love is in my heart so I should act like it.
That teaches me, I should have acted with love.
And I will tell you this, the people who act without Love are the ones who need it the most, The most angry, aggressive, hateful people need love. Love is the remedy for all the negative. The hatred, the evil.
That teaches me, I should have acted with love.
And I will tell you this, the people who act without Love are the ones who need it the most, The most angry, aggressive, hateful people need love. Love is the remedy for all the negative. The hatred, the evil.
Be love.
(And it seems all of my best lessons are learn from hindsight. How ironic.)

Music is love. Music is healing. Music is pain. Music is joy. Music is comfort.
I am a BIG music fan.
There is a song for every emotion, feeling and thought.
An album for every hardship, an album for every love story, and an album for every new home.
There is an artist for every mood, an instrumental for every circumstance, a mix for every groove and a collaboration for every relationship.
I am a music lover, not a music trend follower. I just listen to what I love. Last year I have discovered Spotify (yes I know I'm late, but better late than never eh?) I thought I would share a few songs from my playlists...
Thology ft. Maeve- Rabbit Holes
What a groove! A bouncy soulful vibe from Synchronicity Records. Whenever I play this, its always on repeat. Have a listen here !
Nas feat. Amy Winehouse - Cherry Wine
Such a beautiful chorus. This song makes me think of my love.
The Carpenters- We've Only Just begun
I feel emotional whenever I listen to this song. There is a sadness about it, but its a beautiful song. I actually had a feeling something tragic had happened to the duo. After researching, I found out the female lead died from heart failure as a consequence of anorexia nervosa. You will know this song if you have seen the film 1408. After watching that, I can no longer listen to the full song!
Kwabs- Wrong or Right
First heard this guy sing Katy Perry's Dark Horse on Radio 1 Live Lounge.. What an incredible voice! You know when you hear someone sing for the first time and their voice just gets you?
Lauryn Hill- The Mystery of Iniquity
From the renowned MTV Unplugged album. The chorus of this song was interpolated on Kanye West's track All Falls Down. A deep hard hitting melodic outburst of realness.
Carly Simon- You're So Vain
A classic in my eyes. Featured in the film How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days.
Luther Vandross- A House Is Not A Home
One of the greats. An easy listening song. Kanye West sampled this for his track Slow Jamz feat. Jamie Foxx and Twister. A rendition was sung by Jermain Jackman on The Voice last year.
Eminem- Rap God
This is archetypal Em. Definitely shows why he is heads above the rest. Lyrical genius.
Deee-Lite- Groove Is In The Heart
One of my all time favourite songs ever. Impossible not to shack out to this!
Sia- Little Man
This song remind me of my youth because the garage remix by Sticky is an iconic garage anthem. To this day if this gets played in a rave, people go crazy for it. This is however the mellow, soulful original.
N*SYNC- I thought she knew
Three minutes and twenty two seconds of acapella deliciousness from my favourite boy band. I am still hoping they will reform! For the record JC was always my favourite, and in my opinion the better singer.
Rudimental feat MNEK & Syron- Spoons
Best track on the Album Home by Rudimental , in my opinion. A lot of emotion behind this tune for me; nothing specific, just in the way it makes me feel.
Mos Def- Ms. Fat Booty
From the classic album Black On Both Sides.
Kim English - Nite Life
An old skool, house vibe. I like the original, but there's also a speeded up version on Pure Garage IV, for anyone who has that in their collection, ha!
Feel free to name me one of your favourite songs :)
Much love. xx
New Social Media Habits

I tweet less, upload less, post less and browse less.
I have come to the conclusion that social media doesn't have to be used constantly. I used to mock those who do not have accounts, now I wonder if they're minds are less polluted than mine. Probably not.
About two weeks ago, I decided to lessen my use of my social media accounts; namely Twitter and Instagram and Whats App. I deleted my apps for a weekend to test the waters, and it felt great. This lead me to extending that for a few more days, then I decided to get them back, upload what I wanted to, then log out of my accounts. Personally, it is the browsing that gets me. I can spend ages scrolling though my timeline. I mean ages in the sense that I could probably cook a meal from scratch and consume it, in the same amount of time.
Social media browsing is not the best use of time, not just because dinner is late, but because of all the negative exposure to other peoples post. I have reduced my negative intake -for want of a better phrase- by unfollowing any account that doesn't display images of a wonderful, positive nature (or unicorns). What I deem as negative, does not necessarily scream negative to you, but to give you an idea, I do not choose to follow anyone that highlights drama and soap style scenarios, promotes sexism/nudity, discusses celebrity gossip or promotes food or acts I do not believe in.
I will be honest and say I feel better for it. I feel better seeing love and positivity on my timeline. I follow people I know, yoga loving individuals, book readers and vegans. I enjoy filling my mind with organic recipes, yoga poses and my next would be reads. I waant images and captions to uplift me, not fuel my fire of pain. Does your timeline make you feel better?
I fully intend on making this permanent change to how I use social media. I firmly believe it can enhance your life if used correctly, however it definitely shouldn't become your life.
What do you think?

I hope you liked reading about how reading makes me feel! I tag anybody who wishes to take part: if you do, be sure to leave your link below.

| Sippin' on Pukka Three Cinnamon Tea while I read on the train |
1. Do you have a certain place for reading at home?
I love my sofa. My dream spot would be a window seat in a cosy little fireplaced, room, off a well stocked library in a large house. Preferably my house.
2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Both. Whenever I visit a library or bookstore I collect a free book mark. However, I am adept at making my own or using postcards or something written down that means something to me- a motto or personal reminder.
3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or certain number of pages?
I'll finish the paragraph.
4. Do you eat or drink when reading?
Nothing beats a cup of tea when settling down with a book. The odd glass of wine can be special teamed with a good read. If I am out in a park some cold and icy if the weather is nice.
5. Do you watch tv or listen to music when reading?
The tv will not com between a good book that holds my interest. when travelling I will sometimes put my ear phones in to block out the world while I read.
6. One book at a time or several at once?
Several at a time. As time has gone on I seem to have developed a short concentration span. So I can jump from one book to another. It depends what mood I'm in with regards to what I want to read. I try to limit myself to one non-fiction and one fiction at a time.
7. Reading at home or anywhere?
I can read anywhere. On the train, in parks, libraries, buses, cars...yes anywhere.
8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently in my head. If I am having trouble understanding something I will repeat it out loud.
9. Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?
I am not one for long winded descriptions so in parts like these I will skip ahead if I feel the book is worth reading still. Sometimes you can find a really good story but its packed with useless descriptions and characters feelings so skipping that bit allows you to get back to the regular scheduled programming.
10. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
Well. Here's a revelation for you. I have a kindle but still buy paperbacks. *horrified face*. I absolutely love my kindle. I got it for Christmas just when Kindles made their debut and I was so delighted, because I was running out of room for any more books. I still have it but I buy nonfiction books in paperback so I can make notes and go back and reference them later. I buy the odd fiction paper when I spot a good deal, but only if it is cheaper than on Kindle (Kindle books are mostly always cheaper than print). So, in regards to the question, ha, I don't tend to break the spine...I stretch it: not completely broken or completely new.
11. Do you write in your books?
Only in non-fiction books, for reference purposes.
12. What are you currently reading?
I currently have my nose in Manuscript Found in Accra by Paulo Coelho and The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill.

Robin McLaurin Williams. Actor, comedian, stand up comedian, film producer and screen writer.
The world is still in shock to hear that he passed away yesterday August 11th 2014.
I remember Robin from some of my favourite films as a child. I loved to watch comedy films, films that made you giggle and howl with laughter.
I watched Robin play Batty Koda in Fern Gully, and transported us to a magical world of faries and magic ( way before Avatar). I had the film on VHS and recall slotting the tape into the machine, whenever I could get the television on its own.
I know all the words to Aladdin. The genie was always my favourite character and the great friendship him and aladdin had used to fill me with warmth. I have this film in my collection today.
You could always catch Hook on television, on a Sunday afternoon. Hook is one of those films that childhoods are made of. Robin made The character of Peter Pan come alive and fill us with dread about growing up, ha!
You will ALL be familiar with Robin playing the nanny Mrs. Doubtfire. I loved the part where Uncle Frank and Aunt Jack tired and tested all of their make up and wax on Daniel to try and turn him into a woman. And the famous line- "Helloooooooo dear!!!" When he emerges out the fridge with cake face to a shocked Mrs Sellner to which he replies "I'm sorry dear, I must look like a yeti in this." Hahahaha.
I also had Jumanji on VHS, where Robin played Alan Parrish. My favourite line has to be when Sarah Whittle says "Well...a little rain never hurt anybody." And Alan replies "Yeah, but a lot can kill ya." I used to fear the Hunter as a child. I liked the bit when monkey Peter uses the axe he's looking for to get into the shed, then he realises what he's doing hahah. And what about when the aunt calls the house for Judy and Peter- Judy picks up and puts on a posh English accent to say "Oh im sorry dear, I think you have the wrong number!" And promptly hangs up. Hahah can you tell I love that film. I own that on DVD too.
Robin also gave us the story of a mad scientist who created flubber, the tale of a young boy called Jack who ages rapidly, and a favourite of my little Unicorn lovers, Happy Feet, the penguin movie. With a career spanning from 1977 until the present day, its safe to say Robin Williams made a mark in everyone's film collection or their splitting sides!
Haven't seen any of those?! How about-
Good will Hunting, Patch Adams, Bicentennial Man, A.I Artificial Intelligence, One Hour Photo, RV or. Night at the Museum to name a few. How about one of the 25 television shows he was in? Mork and Mindy being the most recognised.
Mr. Robin Williams thank you for the memories sir. May god bless your soul and keep your loved ones. Your comedy will live on forever. Much, much love. XXX

The vibrant and cultural atmosphere of Camden Lock is a must-do on anyone's 'to-do list'. Wrapped up in music and smiling faces while you sample the wears of street vendors, brings nothing but joy and peace as you walk the crowded market town. Pick up a bargain on one of the famous market stalls, take a walk along the canal or simply mooch around and absorb the sights = bliss.
What is your favourite thing about visiting Camden?

WIstful Moments in Manic Situations
There are some days when I would like to pack up my stuff and leave. By leave, I mean that I would go somewhere remote and just be for a while. The city has too much going on, is too fast paced and feels too crowded for me sometimes. I like nothing more than to have my own space when I can and to spend time in my own company.
I like to feel the wind on my face, smell fresh air and hear only the sounds of nature which my city rarely provides. However, better than wishing things were different, is to adapt to the situation you are in.
I hope the Universe will allow me these few moments of wistfulness :)

Someone once said to me "Be thankful for what you have, because someone somewhere is fighting for your position."
|
I am thankful to have passed my college course with flying colours. Nine months of hard work and faith granted me the results I needed to move on to bigger things! I am so grateful!
I am grateful for the good weather; I love the sun. No matter how hot it gets, I never complain. Winter is my least favourite season so sunny days are the one for me.
I thank the Universe for my family. Everything I do is for them. I am so grateful they are happy and healthy.
I am thankful for my health. All the stress and sleepless nights I put my body through and yet I am healthier than most.
I am thankful for the money in my pocket and the food in my cupboard. There are so many people who have a lot less, so whatever my financial situation I remind myself of the audacity of complaining while others are worse off.
There is always something to be thankful for, regardless of your situation. I don't just mean material things either. Often, the things with the most value are not physical.
Happy Thursday xxx

Let me know if any work for you.
1. Watch a film.
Getting lost in the drama of a story can help to focus your mind elsewhere. I think it goes without saying to stay away from Titanic and Marley and Me though. A comedy or love story never fails. Guys, try a hard hitting action film. Sorry for the stereotype.
2. Get outdoors!
Your favourite park/museum/attraction. I have a lovely spot close to home where I sit and clear my head for a couple of hours. It is peaceful and very very quiet with beautiful scenery.
3. Be active.
Kick start your engine mate! Running, yoga, stretching, walking whatever gets you moving. I fully recommend Just Dance on the Wii/Xbox.
4. Mediation
To meditate is simply to find peace in the tornado that is life. When you cannot find peace around you, let your inner peace transcend to your surroundings. Sit for 5-10 minutes with your eyes closed, concentrating on your breathing and the functioning of your body.
5. Get artsy.
Do something creative. Draw how you feel. Paint something, make something. Decorate a room. Paint your nails. Plan some outfits. Design something. Write a story. Anything that calls for your to use your creative vision will expel your negative energy AND turn it into something cool.
None of these activities will prove fruitful without mindfulness. Mindfulness is the art of living and being in the moment; focusing on the task in hand. If you are going for a jog but constantly think of how much you want to hurt your cat for spilling milk everywhere, by time you get back you will not feel any different. Take a deep breath, and plough full stream ahead into what you are doing. If your thoughts start to stray, gently remind yourself to concentrate on what you are doing. This does take some practise so don't beat yourself up for not being able to do it. I am still mastering this skill. However, I am a lot better at it than I was a year ago, and even more so a year before that.
Much love everyone.

Let's have a blessed week! - Using Social Media.

Social Media is a wonderful thing. For example, if I did not have a social media account (multiple) I would not know that Aspartame causes cancerous cells. Aspartame is found in soft drinks and has 92 different side affects that can cause ill health ( Sweet Poison ). Nor would I know that David Cameron took part in the 'Hang Mandela' campaign, while Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, with the Federation of Conservative students ( Political Blindspot ). Do you remember Cameron issuing a statement of condolence?
On the flip side: without social media I wouldn't have been able to see Cheryl Cole's wedding ring from her new marriage. I definitely would not have seen Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's first wedding snaps, and how else would I have seen Iggy Azaela's new bum skimming shorts. Yes, another pair.
Just like life, you get out of social media what you put in. If you choose to follow meaningless celebrities and famous-for-getting-your-clothes-off women, then you will live in a very different world to the people that follow conscious beings and enlightening accounts.
At least once this week, use your social media for good. Positivity. There are people with real causes and IMPORTANT information struggling to get their voice heard because of the Iggy's and Kimye's that have more air space on the timeline. Find some thing meaningful, something that hits home, something that can help someone and POST IT, please.
That one tweet, post, upload could make a difference to someone who needs it. Or even better, save someone's life.
Feel free to follow me on my social media accounts. My links are at the top of the page. I will retweet or repost every post/tweet of the aforementioned nature, just @ me.
Much love to you all.

Are we being the friend we wish to have?
Monday, 16 June 2014
Lately I have been hearing people say "Oh she never calls me," or "Why do I always have to ring her" or "She never invites me anywhere."
Does that sound like a friend?
And I don't mean the person being talked about, I mean the person doing the talking!
Often, when we find that there is something we are not happy with in others, it reflects on something in ourselves. If you find a friend never calls you, consider the last time you picked up the phone to them. When you feel as though you do not get invited out or included in plans, ask yourself when you last invited that person to hang out with you.
Friendship is a two way thing. What we ask of others we must also be willing to provide; otherwise that is not friendship. Friends give equally and wholly.
I, myself am guilty of this too. I pledge to make more of an effort with my people, instead of whining about what they allegedly do not do for me.
This lesson was highlighted to me by a very wise man :)
Much love to you all x
Peach.

A blessed day today, on this special occasion.
I learnt to make these bracelets and received one as a gift! I will be purchasing a pack of elastics this week so I can make some more.
These bracelets will remind me of my wonderful family, and a lovely Father's Day. I am blessed to have a great dad who I admire greatly. I hope you all had a wonderful day.
My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have a father in heaven. An also to those people who do not have a father in their life for other reasons.
Much love to everyone xxx

College finishes next week, so today some of the class went out for a pub lunch. It was fun; the atmosphere was great and the weather was glorious!! Today's photo college will create some nice memories for years to come.
It has been 9 months of hard slog but it has been worth it. I am very proud of myself and all my college ladies. Our tutor Peter is an amazing tutor and we could not have survived the stress, tears and meltdowns without him! I have made great friends. And I have also learnt many lessons, for which I am VERY grateful for.
Totally loving life today. I thank the Universe profusely <3
